A Game of Thrones - George R.R. Martin A fun romp written in an engaging (even if mostly rather too coarse for my tastes) style. I'm enjoying all the intrigues enough to push onto the next volume, despite the tome-like length and unnecessary filler, plowing and waffle in a lot of places.

I'm actually quite surprised that I'm enjoying a pop mainstream series this much.
